Stomas (Colostomy Bag)

Colostomy bag

Stomas are the intestinal part brought out of the abdominal wall onto the skin where a bag is attached to colect the stools.

Temporary or Permanent

Stoma, commonly called as colostomy bag can be required after certain type of colorectal cancer surgery. Usually it is temporary for few months, but sometimes it has to be permanent. 

Stoma Support/ Stoma Nurses

There is plenty of support available for stoma training and advice, not only on the internet, but face to face with dedicated stoma nurses. Patients with stoma bags after certain period can indulge in practically most activities including swimming and travel.
